She's so darling!! Eeek, lucky getting this picture!! Are the baby presentations all through out the day? I am thinking about going today the 30th, and I am just wondering when the presentations or when they let you in the stadium to see the baby. Cause I really want to record the baby, going to sit really close to class to get them swimming underwater as well as above, if they have two presentations. I hope so. <3
They do presentations at the show times. I think they'll be transitioning back to shows pretty soon... They've started making their way. By shows seems to be a hybrid of both. It's hard to tell what will happen. It's been changing daily. But since the baby has met everyone, it'll probably start getting things back in motion to returning more normal. Who knows. It's so day to day.
You know, I had wondered about the same thing and figured you might know the answer! I'm flying to San Antonio tomorrow and SeaWorld is at the top of my to-do list again, although I suspect the person I'm visiting doesn't quite "get it" and we'll probably arrive two hours before closing. Nice to know there *might* be a show or something show-like, if I make it. Hoping!
Well, I'll be out there again today and a few more in January. But today is the last day for all the Christmas stuff and the long hours, they go back to being open 12 - 6 in January. So we'll see. But it's so day to day. I have no idea. They had almost full Miracle shows on December 28th, they just changed the ballet part (slow part) to bring out the baby and had a little presentation then. The 29th was baby presentation and the very last segment of the Miracles show. Prior to this though, it was just presentations since they were trying to get baby comfortable gating. I really don't know what they will do and I have been told as much from the trainers. They have an idea of what they'd like to happen, but it's up to the whales.
Well, of course it is up to the whales! Just glad to know there's a chance of seeing something a bit more than "just" a presentation. There's lots of other things to do anyway! Last time I went I was unable to make it to see the dolphins and sea lions so those are high on my list anyway. Azul is low on my list since I was...kind of bored. Too many acrobats, not enough animals. My friend joked that they were the Olympic swim team rejects. Not very nice, I know, but after the show I thought about that and finally laughed. Unfortunately my friend isn't the fastest person so with the reduced hours I am trying to keep my excitement under control lest I end up stressed again. Flying down from Vancouver so it isn't something I can just do all the time!
Yes, sorry. But I keep saying that out of habit, I deal with too many stupid people who don't know that fact. Well, if yesterday was an indication, it was full shows and baby was presented during the ballet part. So you should get to see everything where killer whales are concerned.
Well, hitting Azul may be worth it... If you're lucky, you'll get to see Imaq! He does shows now. And I swear, it's so funny. He's this giant slow-moving, mass of marshmallow fluff that jiggles like jello. So cute when he does shows! But unless you're gonna do a tour, Azul is your only chance to see the lags and belugas. It's worth it to just hit one. They don't really block the time you'd see another show.
We've all made that joke about the divers at least once, I know, mean. lol. Recently we've been making fun on their new costumes. They went from being sea monsters to ninja turtles. It was so funny the first time we saw the change.
Well, tell your friend to get their butt into gear because, you're right, isn't something everyone gets to do whenever they want, and trips may come far and few at times, and you should get to see things and do things you want to see and do!
Well, we didn't make it to Azul, and what could have been a great shot of the baby was ruined by all the people who kept getting up and dwn during the earlier show. The later one got more decent pictures of the other whales, though. Loved it anyway! I have enough Air Miles to get to and from Texas three times, so I'll be back probably when they re-open.
I will admit, I do miss seeing Imaq as he jiggles like jello, as you described him. Perfect! He's awesome. I miss him, but am glad his current home is good, too
Pictures being ruined by standing and people moving? Story of my life. People are jerks.
I bet you must miss him! Maybe you can do a beluga tour someday and see his kids, Stella and Sampson. They are really cute too. Well, I do hope on one of your future trips that you will be able to see him at SWT!
Oh I see I see. Well I couldn't go today, cause it was too cold for my asthma. I am probably going to go Friday, January 3rd. It's weird cause on the website it says One Ocean is back but it also says the Shamu Shows are canceled for baby presentations. I am just hoping to see her honestly, that is what I want. -chuckles-. I am glad she has met everyone.
I assume they will go back to having more of a normal show by then. But again, it's day to day and depends on what the whales want to do. She's a beautiful baby. I hope you get out soon to see her soon! Especially if you can see her later in the day, it's great. She gets really active towards the later parts of the day and starts making cute little baby jumps.
